Ice Melters Curling Club
Area: TUNBRIDGE WELLS
c/o Spring Place
St Aubyns Close
Formed in June 2003 - and directly affiliated to the Royal Caledonian Curling Club as a club of 'no specific country' - membership of the Ice Melters Curling Club is open to all regardless of location, nationality, gender, age or ability.
Without its own rink, the club stages regular club nights at Fenton's Rink - near Tunbridge Wells, in Kent, England - and also arranges tours to Scotland and locations throughout mainland Europe (providing members with the opportunity to participate in various leagues / bonspiels and to benefit from top-class coaching and training sessions).
During the 2004/05 season, teams representing the Ice Melters Curling Club will visit Helsingborg (Sweden), Malmö (Sweden), Copenhagen (Denmark), Lockerbie (Scotland) and Paris (France).
Each year a number of club social events are also arranged (while during the summer months, members can try their hand at the French sport of petanque, through automatic - and free - membership of the club's 'Boule' section).
If you are interested in joining the Ice Melters Curling Club, you would be made most welcome. Further information (and a downloadable membership application form) can be found on our 'About' page. Alternatively you can email the Club Secretary with any questions you may have.
With most current club members fairly new to the sport of curling, teams representing the Ice Melters Curling Club are unlikely to win anything in the near future - but that won't stop us from trying!
To us it really is the 'taking part' that's important.
