Archery is a sport that can be enjoyed by all the family.
Buscot Park Archers, Faringdon, Oxfordshire shoot on National Trust property adjacent to Buscot Park Cricket Club. Members can also shoot in Canada wood which is adjacent to the target shooting area from February to October each year.
The club is affiliated to the Grand National Archery Association now known as Archery GB.
Club 'Target and Field' shooting times are on Wenesdays and Friday evenings from 6:00pm till dusk and all day Sunday. The target archery field is available for shooting at ALL other times subject to members following health and safety rules.
During the winter months we hold a frostbite shoot on the first Sunday of each month. Members also shoot indoors at Faringdon liesure centre during the winter months every Friday evening from October to March from 8:00pm to 10:00pm.
In addition to shooting we hold social events throughout the year including a February dinner, Easter fun shoot, summer barbeque and of course a Christmas fun shoot (the Christmas Pudding Shoot). Family members are very welcome at these events.
Their are around adult 40 members and 10 junior members in the junior club. We have two qualified coaches to train begineers and work with club members to improve their sport. Formal coaching is generally free but has to be agreed with one of the clubs coaches.
Begineers classes cost £40/adult and £20/junior (under 18). Courses are 5 weeks long starting the 3rd Monday in May and 1st Monday in July from 6:30 to 8:30pm. The club encourages and welcomes people with disabilities.
