Run the Oxford Parks! Try a series of four Saturday morning orienteering races around the picturesque parks in Oxford: Hill End (14 Feb); Cutteslowe Park (14 March); Shotover Country Park (11 April); University Parks (16 May). An orienteering race is a staggered start trail run with a difference - there is no set route! For an added mental challenge, you must navigate your way around the course, between each checkpoint marked on a map. We use electronic chip timing, which you'll register at each checkpoint around the park. Come along any time between 10am and 11.30am and we'll get you started if you've not been orienteering before. You can start a course any time up to midday and courses close at 1pm. The courses will take you along paths and off-path, so trainers or trail running shoes are ideal. A compass may be handy to bring, but we can always lend you one if needed. This event takes place at Hill End, Eynsham Road, Farmoor, Oxford, OX2 9NJ. Various courses for runners, and also families and children, up to 5k (however this is a straight line distance measured between the control points and you'll run further!).
