Community Leisure Services (CLS) Ltd has begun a £90,000 development project at Yarborough Leisure Centre, Lincoln.

The developments will include a 100 sq. metre studio and a 23 sq. metre meeting room; to enhance the existing facilities which were added to and improved at the commencement of CLS’ partnership with the City of Lincoln Council in May 2004.

The new studio will take the centre’s class workout programme to 32 classes per week and is scheduled to open at the end of January 2007.

This is the third part of the phased programme at Yarborough Leisure Centre; coming hot on the heels of the original 2004/2005 investment providing a Health & Fitness Suite, improved changing facilities and a larger improved reception area including a café and then earlier this year the new All Weather Pitch replacement.

Stuart Blackbourn, CLS Contract Manager for Lincoln, commented: “This development will provide us with an enhanced membership package.  In consultations with our customers, 85% express an interest in our aerobic programme and this allows us to significantly develop and increase our current programme.

Blackbourn continues; “The addition of two facilities also provides a further opportunity for us to expand our programme for the over 55’s and under 16’s.

Clare Kennedy, CLS' Chief Executive added: "CLS is delighted at the commencement of this third stage of our investment in Yarborough Leisure Centre and are looking forward to the enhancements that will be available to benefit of the local community, as we head into our third year of management of City of Lincoln Council’s leisure centres. We will be working to ensure all our customers are able to continue accessing all facilities during the building works."
