Great Britain’s disability shooters will this week fly out to Luxembourg to compete in a pre-Christmas competition and their last tournament of 2009.

The eleven-strong squad of shooters will be competing in the able-bodied shooting contest – the 2009 RIAC and IBIS Cup.

The squad includes Paralympians Nathan Milgate, Matthew Skelhon, Deanna Coates and James Bevis as well as rising star Jean Guild, who just weeks ago won the best female newcomer award at the Wheelpower Sport’s Awards.

The RIAC I, RIAC II and IBIS Cup 2009 will be held from December 16 to 19, in Luxembourg at the Centre National de Tir à l’Arc in Strassen and is one of the top able-bodied shooting championships in Europe.

The event, organised by the Luxembourg Shooting Federation, has a unique format that allows athletes to compete in the same event on three consecutive days or a combination of events across the championship.

The full GB squad for the competition is Nathan Milgate (Herne Bay, Kent), Matthew Skelhon (Stilton, near Peterborough), Deanna Coates (Yateley, Hampshire), Karen Butler (Bristol), Mandy Pankhurst (Ash, Surrey), James Bevis (Hereford), Richard Davies (Stourbridge, West Midlands), Chris Summerscales (Rotherham, Yorks), Andy Gardiner (Oxfordshire), Jean Guild (Southport, Merseyside) and Adam Fontain (Pitsea, Basildon).
