Yesterday, Colin and Justin once again took time out from their hectic schedules to come along and present the cheques to representatives from Scottish Disability Sport and Music in Hospitals Scotland, both parties received a cheque for £10,444.81. The funds raised at the event will be used to develop Scottish Disability Sport at a grassroots level and in particular with the Scottish Wheelchair Curling Association. Music in Hospitals Scotland will use the money to support additional concerts at hospitals and care units across Scotland where they are most needed.
Speaking about their involvement in the success of the event, Justin Ryan said, “It’s always nice to take part in something brand new and something that everyone was just so excited and positive about and that’s what we look for when helping out with events like this. We also know that working with Jill and Jan there would be a really good energy and fun factor to the evening and it is nice to help out some smaller charities at grassroot level especially in the economic climate that we’re in right now”.
Jill Dinsmore, event organiser said, “It’s amazing that this event raised so much money for these charities and the generosity of everyone who attended enabled the amount raised to completely surpass all of my expectations. Everything ran really smoothly on the evening making it a very nice relaxing event for everyone involved and I’m now looking forward to planning ‘Summer in the City 2011’.
