Report from Barbara King of Moray Firth Ladies
On Tuesday 9 November, ladies from the Moray Firth, Elgin, Forres and Ballindalloch curling clubs were privileged to host a party of 24 Canadian lady curlers which is presently touring Scotland. During the visit, 5 local teams gathered at The Moray Leisure Centre to curl against the Canadians. They were piped on to the ice by Kevin Mcinnes.
Following the match, the visitors were each presented with scarves, kindly donated by Johnstons of Elgin and shortbread from Walkers of Aberlour. The party took lunch at Johnstons, before departing for Inverness. Members wish to thank the Committee of Moray Province for their generous sponsorship, Walkers and Johnstons for making this memorable visit so enjoyable by all participants.
The day was a great success, enjoyed by all, especially as the home teams won 3 games out of 5, with total shots of 38 to 29.
