Pairs: As we said last year 'they've done it again'! Those club pairs experts Jim Mason and Bev Brown have just won the Raith & Abbotshall Pairs competition now for the 8th time. In pairs curling there are only two players in a rink instead of the normal four so each player has to throw more stones in an end. This makes the games shorter and more energetic. This year we changed the format so as to have all the games played in a single session with a final played between the two top rinks. Jim and Bev were not the least bit put out by all the additional excitement and ended up worthy winners defeating Jim Browning and Heather Brown 4 – 0 in the final. So Bev retains the coveted George Hardie Rosebowl which was presented to the Club by the late George Hardie, President of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club 1993-94.
