TeamBath netballers face crunch play-off game
TeamBath’s netballers face the biggest game of the season to date tomorrow (Friday) night when they host Surrey Storm in the first round of the play-offs.
The four-times Superleague champions must beat Storm to progress further in the competition and have a chance of retaining their Fiat Netball Superleague title.
The big game gets underway at the University of Bath Sports Training Village at 8pm on Friday 27 May – the pre-match entertainment begins at 7.15pm. It will be TeamBath’s last home game of the season – the winners will be away to Northern Thunder or Mavericks in the next round of play-offs with a place in the grand final at stake.
TeamBath face a tough task as they went down 60-47 at home to Storm in their penultimate game in the league phase of the Superleague two weeks ago, although TeamBath won the reverse fixture 57-48.
The fixture is set to feature half of the players in England’s 12-strong squad for the World Championships in July.
TeamBath will feature England internationals Pamela Cookey and Stacey Francis, who are both on the shortlist for the national Fiat Player of the Season award. Storm are captained by former TeamBath player Tamsin Greenway, also on the shortlist of seven for the Player of the Season award.
