Leicester and Reading to meet in Investec Final

21st April 2013

It was a thrilling day of sport at Reading’s Sonning Lane base as the Investec Women’s Hockey League finalists were decided and the Play-Off teams got one step closer to finding out who would be playing in the Premier Division next season.

Leicester were the first team to secure their place in the final after coming from two goals down to beat Surbiton on penalty shuffles – a nail-biting finale to a great match.

And in the later game, it was Reading who came through after hitting five terrific goals in a 5-1 defeat of Canterbury.

In the Investec Women’s Hockey League Play-Offs, Olton and West Warwickshire went top of the pool after a spectacular strike from Lucilla Parkes sealed their 2-0 victory over Harleston Magpies, meanwhile Beeston secured their first win of the competition against Buckingham.
