Development
London 2012 Olympics offers handball in the UK a unique opportunity, and a chance to create a lasting legacy for the sport.
There is now a growing enthusiasm and demand for Handball from schools and individuals who want to try the sport and it essential that Handball seizes these opportunities to develop the sport.
Creating a seamless plan for Handball in Britain
The British Handball Association (BHA) has created a draft framework document to provide direction for the development of the sport through the home nation associations and their respective regions, clubs and schools.
The framework document suggests key areas in which the sport might focus. These areas of activity would support government initiatives, and the sustainable development of the sport from the playground to the podium.
We need your input
However, whilst the BHA framework provides valuable direction, it does not prescribe how handball should be delivered in England; this is for the England Handball community and sport delivery partners to decide.
Therefore we would like to hear your ideas for the future development of handball in England.
We would like to hear from clubs, players, coaches, officials, teachers, community and school sport partnerships, county sport partnerships - in fact anyone who would like to contribute.
The first stage of the consultation, an online survey is now complete, and phase two will take place in January 2008 with two meetings in Liverpool and London. If you would like more information about attending these meetings, contact the British Handball Association's general manager, Paul Goodwin.
