Divisional Champions Tynecastle clinched the Division One Title, finishing with a 4-0 victory over Clydebank United and a 2-1 victory over Shawbridge in their final games. With only one defeat and two draws in 20 League matches all Season they proved worthy winners ahead of Greenhill Dynamo. Paul McCarthy and James Jordan were star perfomers all Season and under the management of Bernie Vallely and Billy McVey they took the Title for the first time in the Club's history and thirteen years after promotion to the top Division. League Chairman, Willie Rutherglen presented the Trophy to Club Captain (and former Dunbreac player) Alan Stevenson following the game against Shawbridge. In Division Two SCYP led from the front all Season to take Division Two ahead of Riverside. This gave them a "Double" along with their earlier League Cup victory over Greenhills Dynamo. ICC, Glasgow North, County Thistle and Airdrieonians all led Division Three at some point but it was ICC who finally emerged as Champions in their inaugural Season. Tommy Marshall Trophy Final Saturday's Final has been moved to Ashfield Juniors as there is a doubt over whether Guy's Meadow will be playable. Rather than wait until a formal decision regarding Guy's Meadow on Friday morning we have decided to switch the venue tonight to give the Clubs, Officials and supporters as much notice as the circumstances allowed.
|
The proceedure for Midweek Fixtures is for the home Club to contact their opponents to agree what night(s) the game can be played. If the Clubs are unable to agree Dougie Anderson, the Match Secretary must be contacted and he will set a date. Once a date and venue are known John wallace, the Referee supervisor must be notified in order to allocate a referee. It is vital that Clubs contact opponents, Match Secretary and Referee Supervisor as early as possible with proposed date(s), provisional/confirmed venue, any problems/disputes etc.

Executive Meeting 20th October The next Executive Meeting will be on Monday 20th October and one of the items on the agenda will be the Debt Suspension of Clubs who have failed to pay the outstanding dues issued at the September Meeting. I would remind Clubs that Debt Suspension means that a Debt Suspended Club's SSMFL Fixtures are awarded to their opponents. It also means that West of Scotland or Scottish Cup Ties are awarded to opponents. The next all Club League Meeting will be in November - only Clubs who are specifically cited to appear at the October Meeting need to attend on Monday.

It was an entertaining game played at an impressive pace despite the hot conditions.
