The club is situated in the Amman Valley , 15 miles from Swansea, 10 miles from Neath and 18 miles from Llanelli. The area is notable for fostering the grass roots of Welsh rugby, with intense, but sporting rivalry with its neighbouring clubs of Brynaman,, Amman United,, Cwmllynfell and Ammanford.
Many great players have started or improved their careers at thr club, with Gareth Edwards, voted the Greatest Player of the 20th Century, being one of the local heroes.
The club’s headquarters has experienced many changes of venue over the years, but has now settled down into top of the range premises on the site of the old Miners Welfare Hall in Gwaun Cae Gurwen..
The start of the 2003/04 season, saw the opening of brand new dressing rooms and gymnasium , adding to the club’s impressive range of facilities.
