Thames Velo is a small racing club for cyclists of all ages. It was formed with a view to doing enough to justify being a club without getting deeply into the politics and obligations of committees etc. so that members can get on with riding their bikes and racing. The membership is drawn mostly from the East Berks and South Bucks area and every member is an active cyclist.
We have a strong Road Racing ethos although we also ride Time Trials and the Track, especially Roadmans Time Trials such as Hillys and 2-ups. A few lads have been known to ride some Mountain Bike events. We are affiliated to both the BCF and RTTC and Reading Track for 2002.
We are currently looking for a new sponsor for 2002/3 onwards. If anyone out there is interested in supporting a Cycle Racing Team and at the same time gaining the long term publicity that comes from having the team train and race in the sponsors colours, together with as many column inches as we can generate in the local press please contact the secretary now. This website would be changed to reflect the sponsorship and it will also be linked to the sponsors website, if any.
New members are welcome and the best way to proceed to check each other out is to ride with us.
