History The British Cycling Federation was formed in 1959 following the amalgamation of the National Cyclist's Union and British League of Racing Cyclists. The British Cycling Federation re-branded itself British Cycling in August 2001.

Objectives British Cycling aims to be the organisation of choice for competitive cyclists, committed to competition cycling at all levels, from the structured development of grass-roots cycling, through the provision of effective cycle coaching, to the implementation of the Cycling World Class Performance Programme.

The National Structure With over 1,100 affiliated clubs in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, British Cycling has contacts country-wide to develop your cycling, whether you ride for competition or leisure.
