Current Club membership

The current Club membership is 28. Ages range from early 20's to mid 60's. Currently there is a lack of younger riders in the Club and one of the current aims is to encourage younger members into the Club. There is no discrimination as to who may join the Club and anyone wishing to join, no matter what level of competence or age will be made most welcome. The club has members around the Country and tries to foster a degree of camaraderie such that when members have to leave the area as a result of their jobs they continue as members. Anyone wishing to join the club should either contact the Secretary Tel. 0191 2852214, email or turn up at the meeting venue.

Club Runs

Venue - Regent Metro Centre, Gosforth, Newcastle on Tyne

The Club meets every Saturday and Sunday morning.

Saturday Club run (meet 10am) - this is normally about 30-35 miles and is a good introduction for those new to cycling with a Club as well as the more experienced riders. Even inexperienced riders are able to go on this run as no one is left on their own at any time.

Sunday Club run (meet 9am) - this can vary in distance and intensity depending on the time of year and the members turning up. Normally it is about 60-70 miles although it can be longer in the summer. However riders not wishing to stay out for a long period often only go out for the morning. Any new member joining the Club is never left on their own and there will always be a current club members to see that they get safely home.

There is also an early morning section for those family members who wish to return home around midday. This section meets at 8am and is not for the inexperienced rider. Meeting point is on crossroads half way up Elmfield Road, Gosforth. Contact Dave Robinson for details at email

The Club often organises other rides, some of which are “Off Road”. These normally occur during holiday periods. To participate in these rides a member needs an ATB Bike.
