About Us
The Sotonia Cycling Club meets every Tuesday evening at the clubroom in the Valley Park Community Centre, Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh, Hampshire. The Community Centre is opposite the Cleveland Bay Public House, just off Knightwood Road (map). Why not come along to meet the members any Tuesday evening between 8 and 10 pm.Membership is open to everyone who has an interest in cycling. There are no age limits but children under sixteen must at all times be accompanied by a responsible adult. Anyone under the age of eighteen must have the written consent of a parent or guardian to take part in any club activity.
Apart from the social side, many of the club members take part in most of the aspects of cycling including racing (mainly time trials), charity rides, club rides, reliability trials, audax and off-road cycling.
Come along and meet us, you don't need to have the ability of Chris Boardman, nor do you need to own a bike worth thousands of pounds.
If you are a novice, our members will be glad to advise you on bicycles, equipment, training, diet and all cycling matters.
MEMBERSHIP
Having decided to become a member of the Sotonia Cycling Club, you will be required to pay an annual subscription. These are currently £7.50 for seniors, £12 for a family, £5 for juniors, second claim and pensioners and £3 for juveniles.
All subscriptions become due on January 1st. Those joining after June will only be asked to pay half the appropriate fee and if you join after 1st October, your joining fee will cover membership for the following year.
