British Cycling Level 3 Advanced Club Coach Award

The Advanced Club Coach Award is under development and we envisage having a programme of courses available to deliver in 2003.

There will be a number of generic topics covered, in addition to the discipline specific modules. Although the final framework has yet to be decided, generic topics could include:

  • Performance Profiling
  • Psychology
  • Communication Skills
  • Coaching Children
  • Coaching Disabled Performers
  • The Responsible Sports Coach
In terms of discipline specific modules, it is anticipated that coaches at the Advanced level will focus on either sprint or endurance disciplines.

Sprint coaches can specialise in any number of the following disciplines:

  • BMX
  • Mountain bike downhill
  • Track sprint
  • Cycle Speedway
Endurance coaches can specialise in any number of the following disciplines:
  • Road racing/time trials
  • Mountain bike cross country
  • Track endurance
  • Cyclo-cross
