The Club

The Glasgow Mountain Bike Club is one of the oldest specialist mountain bike clubs in Scotland, having been formed in January 1987 by a group of enthusiasts who were interested in the up and coming sport of mountain biking.

Meeting Places

Wednesday Evenings

Wednesday evening club night is from 7.30 in St Andrews Church Hall, Stewart Street, Milngavie.

Newcomers should come along on a Wednesday night before attempting any Sunday runs.

Whether daylight lasts or not we go out for an hour or so on the bikes, returning for tea and biscuits and to finalise arrangements for the following Sunday.

Otherwise we have anything from bike maintenance nights to quiz nights, always with the inevitable tea and biccies!

Sunday Mornings

Sunday runs are where the real riding starts.

We meet in a small car park near Safeway, Anniesland and drive from there to wherever the route that day happens to be. If you don't have a car, turn up anyway and there will usually be a lift for you.

Routes on Sunday can last anything from a couple of hours to a full day ride, but you will always know what length and difficulty to expect if you have attended the Wednesday before!!
