The Region is well known for high-level competition with many opportunities to participate and spectate at a variety of events at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham. Competition takes place at all levels for all abilities in most disciplines. Have a go or try something new.
The Region also contains miles of pleasant touring water which will provide many days of exploration for all levels of paddlers. The rivers are connected by a network of canals giving opportunities for circular trips. A tour is organised somewhere in the Region on the first Saturday or Sunday of each month with some camping weekends. Details are on the website.
There are many good clubs and the Regional Committee sees one of its main objectives to improve links and support with and between them. There are various sites, which provide white water canoeing throughout the year. The slalom sites at Matlock and Holme Pierrepont both have the benefit of flood lighting.
