The Essex Arrows Baseball Club (formerly The Waltham Abbey Arrows) was founded in 1983 by Louis Courtney.  Together with the co-operation of the Waltham Abbey Council,  a diamond was built to the same specifications as a major league baseball diamond at Town Mead Leisure Centre in Waltham Abbey, Essex.

Phil Chesterton took over at the helm of the club in 1984 and with a lot of hard work, practice and dedication from all the team members, The Essex Arrows Baseball Club climbed up to the Premier Division of the British Baseball Federation.

Since November 1999 the club has been managed by David Shaer, who has been playing with the Arrows since 1985.  In 2001 the club received £5,000 in funding from the Waltham Abbey Town Council which paid for the fencing to enclose the field, the dirt infield and the bleachers.  Dugouts have also been constructed giving the Essex Arrows Baseball Club one of the finest fields in the country.

We comprise two adult teams (ages 16-40) and one Pony Team (ages 13-16).  We are affiliated to the British Baseball Federation and play hard, competitive baseball.  Players of all abilities welcome.  Contact us if you want to play, coach or just come to watch!
