The Alsager Company of Archers is an Archery Club located in the outskirts of the small town of Alsager on the South Cheshire Border with Staffordshire.
The Club encourages the bow disciplines of Recurve (as used in the Olympics), Compound and the traditional Longbow for all the family in a friendly, but competitive environment.
The Club has a reputation within the the County of Cheshire for producing top class Archers, both at Senior and Junior level, which have not only gone on to represent the County, but have represented the region and Great Britain at International Level.
During 2004 the club celebrated it's 30th anniversary and it staged several events to highlight this important milestone in any club's history. These events included a Marathon Shoot back in June 2004 where all the club members shot at least one of the officially recognised rounds, which was over 60 rounds amounting to over 5000 arrows being shot. At the same time the Club members managed to raise over £1000 for the Donna Louise Trust.
To attract newcomers to this fascinating sport the Club stages at least 4 Beginners Courses each year. These courses are run by the club's GNAS Coaches and County Instructors and provide tutition in the basic technique of shooting a bow. In addition, during each course further information and guidance on the sport, owning your equipment and Club membership is provided. Once you join the club the Coaches, Instructors and the established members will be always eager to help you get the best out of the sport.
