History
Broad Green Archers was formed in August 1974 as 'The British Leyland Bowmen' meeting at the British Leyland Sports and Social Club in Wellingborough.
In 1982 with the closure of the BL Foundry the club reformed as Broad Green Archers at the Railway Sports and Social Club, Broad Green, Wellingborough.
Over the years the club has had several shooting venues and the present location being Doddington Memorial Hall for indoor shooting from September to April and Wellingborough Rugby Club from April to September.
We are a friendly club affiliated to Archery GB the governing body of our sport. We are open to archers of all abilities and welcome new members.
Beginners courses are held on a Wednesday and consist of six lessons covering safety rules, basic shooting technique, basic equipment set up and how to assemble a bow and target equipment, the function and adjustment of the sight and an understanding of archery rules including archery etiquette.
We have fully trained coaches who are all volunteers who are prepared to pass on their expertise for your benefit and whenever possible will stay with you for the duration of the courseFor new members or if you would like to visit the club please contact:
