History
Wellingborough Open Archery Club was formed in 1955 by a group of enthusiast mainly from the Chapman's Box Factory, The Embankment, Wellingborough. The club shot at St Mary's Paddock, Victoria School, and at the Dog and Duck Football Ground before settling through the 1960`s at Weavers School. During the 1970` and 1980`s the club moved to Breezehill School, then Scott Bader's sports field at Wollaston. From Scott Bader's we moved to Wollaston school and met there for several years. 2 years ago we relocated to Wrenn School, Wellingborough.
The club currently shoots at Wrenn School in the summer, on Monday and Wednesday evenings, and Saturday afternoons. Both Summer and Winter. We also assist with an after school archery session for Wrenn School pupils.
The club caters for archers of all ages and abilities and actively welcomes disabled archers, who are able to compete on equal terms with able bodied archers. The club has 10 coaches graded from Leader to County Coach.
