Kendal Bowmen is a Club of around 70 Members. We shoot at Shap Road Cricket Ground in Kendal on a Wednesday and Friday evenings in the summer from around 6:30 p.m.. In the winter we shoot at Kirkland Parish Hall in Kendal on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7:30. This year we go outside on 5th April 2005. We have 2 GNAS County Coaches, one GNAS Coach and two level one coaches. We run regular coaching and training sessions. In the winter we run elite coaching sessions on a Thursday evening at 6:30 for archers of 1st class standard and above. Personal coaching is available on appointment and coaching events for all archers are organised for the club on a quarterly basis. Social archers as well as the seriously competitive are welcome.
Beginners courses are run constantly. Next Beginners course likely to start April 2008. £30 for adults and £25 for juniors. Please contact for further information.
We welcome all bowstyles and have a good mix of longbow, recurve and compound archers. We shoot both target and field. We also have our own wood close to Kendal with a field course laid out. Specific coaching for field archery is available.
We have a linked Junior club which is run by qualified coaches who have all undertaken a Police Check. Juniors can only join after they have passed their 11th Birthday. The Junior club shoots on a Friday night in the winter and a Tuesday night in the summer.
