Fish’O’Mania Veterans Club Announced

Matchroom Sport is delighted to announce the formation of the Fish’O’Mania Veterans Club to reward the anglers who have supported fishing’s most popular tournament up and down the country since its inception in 1994.
Over the past 12 years, there has been a hardy band of anglers who have travelled the UK fishing countless Fish’O’Mania qualifiers in a quest for angling’s Holy Grail.
And with the annual televised bonanza reaching record levels of popularity, event organisers Matchroom Sport felt the time was right to reward those who have been loyal to the event through thick and thin.
Apart from the kudos of being a member, the FMVC offers one major benefit; the ability to pre-purchase match tickets to up to eight of qualifying heats of their choice.
Entry to this exclusive club is limited to anglers who have fished 50 or more qualifying events in the 12 year history of the competition as well as all Fish’O’Mania past champions.
In addition, members will be able to enter into the random draw for match tickets for the remaining eight qualifiers should they so wish.
Commented Matchroom Sport Chairman Barry Hearn, “It’s only fair that this select band of anglers get the benefit of their efforts over the years. I have always been one to reward loyalty and I think this is the perfect way to do it.
“There was a period in the late 90’s when the Fish’O’Mania heats were heavily undersubscribed but these guys were always there, battling away to reach the final.
“Look upon it as a loyalty card - they’ve supported the event over the years and this is their just desserts.”
