Growing every year in popularity the event was oversubscribed several months ago, the only disappointment this time is the absence of an overseas team, and especially last year’s winners, from Norway skipped by Thomas Levold. But sure to make up for the absence of Europeans is a strong Scottish and local presence challenging for a share of the prize fund that amounts to £4000.00 in a format that keeps players on their toes and spectators glued to their seats.
From the opening round robin games on Friday when the skin purse is £54.00 per game to the final on Sunday afternoon when amounts up to £100 can be won in one end such notable names as world and Scottish champion Ewan Macdonald and past Scottish champions Bob Kelly,
