Britain's Women Are Through To Semi's
21st June 2007Britain's women's water polo squad are through to the semi finals of the European B Championships in Prague after a hard fought win against Slovakia in their final group match.
The team beat their Eastern European rivals 7-5 to seal the top two group finish required to progress to the knockout stages where they will be playing for a European title and the chance to qualify for the 2008 European Championships.
Britain will now face Portugal in tomorrow's semi-final and are just one match away from challenging for the medals.
Having beaten Turkey 27-3 and drawn against pre-tournament favourites France on their way to the semis, Britain has put in an impressive performance which it will be looking to build on in tomorrow's match.
The team's impressive run of form comes less than five months after the appointment of women's head coach Szilveszter Fekete.
