Friendship Trophy News
Braehead V Borders
Sunday 25th November
On a cold clear day the teams met at a busy day in the Braehead Shopping Centre amongst the bustle of the beginings of the Christmas shopping business. Two matches were played with both the triples and pairs teams well matched and playing intense, focused and competative curling. The pairs teams were close matched with the lead changing from Braehead to the Borders and back to Braehead, with Braehead completing to win 6 games to three.
The challenge was no less between the triplesteams. The first three games were one up for Braehead with Borders coming back and winning the next two ends only to be defeated by a well placed stone and a final finishing score of 4-2 to Braehead.
All agreed that the Friendship Trophy is a testement to the ethos of this game. That of friendly play and healthy competition with no way of guessing who is likely to win. The observers again saying that they were thoroughly enjoying watching and feeling the build up of tension with an enthusiatic burst to the winning team of applause.
Everyone is thoroughly looking forward to the next round of games.
