Lothian Disability Sport, in partnership with Scottish Disability Sport will be hosting an interactive Sports Arena featuring wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis, badminton, football, archery, boccia, new-age kurling, and carpet bowls.  This offers attendees the rare opportunity to try a wide variety of sports in the one location and because most activities will be facilitated by local clubs, it gives people the chance to find out more, as well as meeting some of the current players.
Go Kids Go, the Association of Wheelchair Children will be in attendance demonstrating a variety of wheelchair skills, including road safety, slopes and kerb work.  In addition, Cyclefest will be allowing people to try a variety of hand cycles and trikes , whilst giving advice on disability cycling.  If that’s not enough, there will also be an accessible climbing wall for those not scared of heights!
Activities will be timetabled each day, so visitors can come and try throughout the two-day show and discover the variety of sports available in the area for people with a disability.  This is a fantastic opportunity to raise the awareness of disability sport as well as encouraging people of all abilities to be healthy, get active and take part.  If you have a disability and are interested in getting involved in sport, this is your chance to find out more.
