ECB Deputy Chairman nomination
4th Mrch 2013The Electoral Reform Society has informed the England and Wales Cricket Board that Colin Graves has won the ballot of the Chairmen of the FCCs and MCC over Nigel Hilliard for the nomination for the position of ECB Deputy Chairman by 10 votes to 7 with 2 abstentions.
Colin Graves will now be put forward to the 41 members of the ECB for election as ECB Deputy Chairman in succession to Dennis Amiss who recently announced his intention to stand down from this post at the 2013 AGM on 8 May.
If successful, Colin Graves term of office as ECB Deputy Chairman will run until the 2016 AGM.
Colin Graves has been Chairman of Yorkshire CCC since 2006 and an ECB Board Director since 2010 . He commented: ' I am honoured that the First Class Counties and MCC have chosen to nominate me for the office of Deputy Chairman of ECB. I am most grateful for the support of my colleagues and will now await the conclusion of the election process by ECB's 41 Members.'
