Ballance earns England Increment Contract

31st May 2014

Yorkshire batsman Gary Ballance has been awarded an England increment contract for 2013-14.

Ballance qualifies for the award by virtue of playing one Test and four ODIs against Australia, an ODI against Scotland and three ODIs against Sri Lanka during the current contract period, reaching the 20 points mark during the ODI against Sri Lanka at Old Trafford.

Non-contracted players can earn an England increment contract via a points system. Five points are awarded for a Test appearance and two for a T20 or ODI appearance, with an increment contract being awarded automatically once the player reaches 20 points during the 12-month contract period.
