Great Britain's Ice Hockey game in Fife
6th November 2003Ice Hockey UK would like to thank the Fife Flyers organisation for the hospitality that they extended to the Great Britain Select team.
The game was played in good spirits with Great Britain winning by one goal when Chris McSorley pulled his goalie at the end of the game. It was a tonic to see the effort and enthusiasm put into the game by all the players from both Great Britain and the Flyers.
Chris McSorley, GB Head Coach, Rick Strachan, GB Assistant Coach and Roger Hunt, GB Under 20 Coach had a great opportunity to see all the young talent on show on both teams.
Tom Muir, Fife's boss, said, "It was a privilege to be part of GB's build-up to Norway. Some of the guys who played today may well have caught McSorley's eye. We at Fife would be delighted to know that they got their first chance on Fife ice."
Chris McSorley today confirmed that he will be back in Scotland to hold a Coach seminar and Junior training sessions on 4th and 5th December.
Ice Hockey UK would like to thank the teams that made players available for our first step on the road to Norway.
