England and TeamBath netball player Tamsin Greenway took time out from her preparations for this year's Super Cup campaign to carry the Special Olympics Torch.

The Flame of Hope visited the University of Bath - home to TeamBath - today during its 1,688-mile tour of the country from London to Glasgow. The Special Olympics Summer Games take place in Glasgow in July.

Tamsin carried the torch at the University's Sports Training Village and met many of the children taking part in a 'have a go day' at the state-of-the-art sports complex, including 17-year-old judo player Daniel Bidgood, who will compete in Glasgow.

Keynsham and District Mencap Society holds a weekly After School Special Olympic Group for children at the Sports Training Village.

Tamsin, who recently returned from international duty with the England netball team in New Zealand and Australia, is currently preparing for the 2005 Super Cup when TeamBath Force aim to defend their title.

She is a member of a 14-strong TeamBath Force squad, which play their first match against Team Northumbria Flames in Birmingham on 7th May.

The University of Bath's Sports Training Village hosts a fantastic weekend of Super Cup action from  Friday 13th May to Sunday 15th May. Tickets are available by contacting the National Netball Centre for the South and South West on 01225 383774 or by emailing southwest@englandnetball.co.uk
