England Basketball vacancy

Officials and Volunteers Development Officer

·         Based in Sheffield, this is a full-time position suitable for a person with proven technical knowledge and experience in the areas of basketball officiating and volunteering. It is important that applicants have sound communication skills combined with the ability to work with our affiliated members and other staff.

·         Applicants should be able to facilitate the production and evaluation of educational and developmental resources for basketball referees and table officials. The ability to provide support for, and increase the number of, active affiliated officials is paramount.

·         Additional skills in the area of providing strategies to support and improve the recruitment, retention and recognition of basketball volunteers would be desirable.

All clubs are reminded that the application period has closed for Under 18 and Under 16 entry into the 2005-06 season.

U18 - U13 entry forms for the 2005/2006 season are now available.

 

Deadlines for U15, U14, & U13 applications is Friday 1st July.

 

PLEASE NOTE THAT ENTRIES CAN ONLY BE ACCEPTED WITH FULL PAYMENT OF THE ENTRY FEE AND ANY SURETY FEES. COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY TEAMS SHOULD ENSURE THAT A PURCHASE ORDER ACCOMPANIES ANY APPLICATION THAT IS MADE THROUGH A COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY FINANCE SYSTEM.

national officiating clinic 2005 

All England Basketball-registered National League officials should have received an email earlier today with details of the 2005 Officiating Conference.

The Conference will occur over the weekend of 3rd / 4th September in West Hatfield, Hertfordshire at the Ramada Hotel.

Top european basketball on tv

Some of the world’s top basketball teams can be viewed on EUROSPORT 2 (Channel 411) from 24th June – 1st July when the Mediterranean Basketball Championships are played.

Men’s and women’s teams from countries such as Spain, France, Croatia, and Greece will compete over the week with 10 games being aired, including both Finals shown live.

AGM DETAILS

The 64th Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 10th September 2005 commencing at 11.00am. The meeting will take place at the Holiday Inn (Crick). Rugby/Northampton M1 Jct. 18.

 

APPLICATION FOR AUTHORISATION

Clubs are reminded that in order to host teams from overseas or to travel overseas for competitions and tours, an application must first be made to England Basketball to gain authorisation to host or compete in such activity.
