Great Britain's men's wheelchair basketball team fell at the last hurdle as Italy retained the European Wheelchair Basketball Championships in a thrilling 56 - 54 final.
A last minute offensive rebound was scored from a missed free throw by the Italian's to break British hearts. GB led at half time but the Italians rallied and outscored GB in the final two quarters, reducing the deficit and then taking a slender 1 point advantage into the final minutes of the game. Two missed free throws looked to have thrown GB a lifeline, until the Italian's secured the rebound off the second miss, allowing them to score the winning basket.
