Please be advised that currently there are very few group one and two referees that have applied for Conference you are reminded that the closing date is July 31st. If you have not contact Alan or Roger by this time we will assume you are not officiating next season.

 

Currently on the website are the forms for the handbook and the first availability form for the coming season.

 

As normal at Conference we will conducting the fitness test, I strongly advise you to download the new test from the FIBA website. The officials in the midlands have been running it for sometime now and if you think you will turn up at Conference and just pass it then you will not so please prepare for the test accordingly. You can download it by going to www.fiba.com go to ‘Training’ and then ‘Refs Corner’ and then ‘Assist Downloads’ and then ‘Miscellaneous’.

The registration period for the 2005-06 Founders Cup is currently underway.  This is a competition open to Non-national league players and clubs only.

The 64th Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 10th September 2005 commencing at 11.00am. The meeting will take place at the Holiday Inn (Crick). Rugby/Northampton M1 Jct. 18.

The 2005 Officiating Conference will take place on the weekend of 3^rd / 4^th September in West Hatfield, Hertfordshire at the Ramada Hotel.

Clubs are reminded that in order to host teams from overseas or to travel overseas for competitions and tours, an application must first be made to England Basketball to gain authorisation to host or compete in such activity.

Monday 22^nd to Friday 26^th August 2005.

To be run in conjunction with the Luol Deng players camp at Sevenoaks School.

 

This camp is residential but is also open to day campers.

 

Level 3 Referees and upwards are invited to apply for this camp and Level 2 Referees working towards their Level 3 are also welcome to apply. 

 

This is a great opportunity for Referees to develop and progress their officiating and the camp will offer them:

 

•        Expert tuition from FIBA referee/s

•        2 and 3-man mechanics

•        Rules and interpretations

•        Classroom work on rules and to include:

o        working together

o        philosophy

o        attitude

o        pre-game

o        post-game

•        Court work on mechanics

•        Videos

 

Cost to Referee for residential – 4 nights * £200.00

Non-residential                                      £150.00

This will cover all tuition, bed and all meals *

 

Referees will officiate evening camp games. The camp tutor is Keith Williams, FIBA Referee.
