England Women continued their winning ways with a comfortable win over India in the first night of action in the Ballarat Arena. It took England a while to find their rhythm as India proved worthy opponents in the first quarter with Anitha Pauldurai finding the basket at will.  England’s slow start was soon put to rights in the second quarter and they were spurred on by the return of Andrea Congreaves, back after injury. Up 49-32 at half time they increased the lead through the third period to a 33 point advantage and went on to top the ton and win 104 – 57.

Indeed Congreaves went on to score 17 points and grab 8 rebounds in 20 minutes of play. Shelly Boston’s good form continued as she also netted 17 points. Head coach Brani Bazany was able to run the bench throughout the second half with all the team contributing to England’s final tally.

England will now face group favourites Australia in the final Pool game on Sunday.
