Squash Included in Sussex Youth Games

Squash in Sussex is definitely on the up with Mini Squash programmes in place in local schools and this year squash being put into the Youth Games as a new event. Last year England Squash took the Mini Squash Wall down the coast to Eastbourne where the Sussex Youth Games was held. The wall was quickly assembled for children to try their hand out and experience this excellent sport. After the success and interest shown last year, this year squash was added to the Youth Games for the first time.
The event was run by Naomi Duthie (England Squash South East Administrator) and John Millard (Sussex Community Squash Coach) and proved a great hit with all those taking part. Congratulations to the eventual winners who were Horsham and to Worthing who finished in second place overall and also received the spirit of the games award for showing excellent sportsmanship and good team spirit. We look forward to running the event next year and hope to double the entries!
