The Beaconsfield tournament saw a very new looking Windsor Chiefs take part this week.
With no fewer than six new players, the team provided an entertaining and hard fought exhibition of rugby.
Although they didn’t manage to win a game, for a new combination they showed great promise for the future.
A hastily assembled set of forwards rucked and mauled liked a unit with vastly more experience – gathering and recycling ball to dominate possession in most of their performances.
Three tries were scored in total – Albert Wright and Finlay McNab scoring the points, each from well worked team movements.
The whole team deserve credit with too many outstanding performances to mention by name.
All of the forwards played with pressure and determination to win the ball, and the backs created high tension moments with some searing runs. As the team gels in weeks to come possession will soon be converted into victory with an entire line of talented runners in the backs waiting for their chance.
All in all a great performance to be proud of.
With a rematch looming next week against Wallingford, their last opponents today, we hope to see this sooner rather than later.
