Milford Get Kitted Out!
2nd July 2009Milford Marlins ARLFC are celebrating after winning four Gillette Kit Bags and 10 tickets to the Four Nations Final at Elland Road in November.
The Leeds based club managed to sell almost 1,500 in this year’s Community Game Raffle and in doing so became the highest selling organisation in the country.
The club – who have signed up to the RFL’s partnership agreement – made 75% of all sales, therefore making over £1,000 for club funds in the process.
“The raffle has been a great success for us as a club,” said Charlie Bray, Club Administrator.
“We’ve managed to raise a great deal of money and at the same time everyone within the club has worked together.”
“To raise over £1,000 in the current financial climate it a super effort and I’d like to thank everyone from the club who played their part.”
The raffle – now in its second year – saw over 25,000 tickets sold with selling organisations like clubs and leagues benefiting from sales of the £1 tickets, with the Rugby League Foundation also reaping the rewards.
The Gillette Heritage Centre, at The George Hotel, Huddersfield, staged the draw last month, and Sky Sports Mike Stephenson was on hand to draw the winning tickets.
The winner – John Farrell, from County Offaly, Ireland – will now be jetting off “down under” for a 10 day trip for two that will also see him take in the NRL Grand Final in October
