It was a delight to have 24 World Class teams including 7 of the 10 Olympic teams competing at Braehead in their final competition prior to the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
6 of the Olympic teams reached the quarter final stages and provided a real spectacle show on Sunday.
The home nation Great Britain, skipped by Eve Muirhead, secured a semi final victory against a young Swedish team skipped by Cissi Ostlund with a score line of 6-4.
In the other semi-final, the highly experienced Swiss Olympic team skipped by Mirjam Ott met Bingyu Wang’s current World Gold Medallist winning team. The game was close throughout with the Swiss creating a 2 in the 7th end to edge 5-4 in front and stealing a 1 in the final end to secure their place in the final.
The final between Eve Muirhead and Mirjam Ott’s teams was a superb game with the Great Britain team in the lead at the half-way mark. However the Swiss side fought back hard and took the edge to be crowned champions of the 2010 Glynhill Ladies International.
