N Herts Grand Prix

The 10^th North Herts Grand Prix took place at Hitchin Boys Sports Centre with over 80 players taking part from across the Country and including a number of Local Players participating in their first GP.

There were many superb closely fought matches to watch with one player missing out on getting through his groups three times.

A number of  our local players had a successful weekend in particular a group of the leagues youngsters who have been receiving regular coaching supported by the N Herts League. Natasha and Luke Walsh, Tom and Charlie Baines.

Luke Walsh excelled himself by winning the under 21 event and reaching the semi final of the Men’s Open Singles, not be out done Senior Players Sandra Harper, Jimmy Walsh, Chris Marlow and Ray Powell who all reached finals.

Thanks go to the Referee Val Murdoch, running her first GP event, Alex Murdoch (deputy Referee), helpers from the Felstead, Harper families and other local players for their continuing support, Andy Larner CU who umpired most of the finals and Bribar for attending the event.

Thanks must also go to all the players who entered and made the event so successful.
