Scottish Amateur Football Goes Mobile

9th February 2004

Last weekend saw the Scottish Amateur Football Association and it's Leagues start to use  text messaging to update their results immediately after the match had completed. Within minutes of games ending the the new League positions could be calculated saving a huge overhead on the League Administrators, no more filling in pieces of paper with match results or trying to phone results through.

Each of the team captains had their mobile phones setup with unique identifier and all they had to do after the match was key in, for example, 'Score 2 0', the system holds this until it can verify the result form the opposing team captain's input. As soon as the results are validated they are entered into the results system snd the League Tables are automatically updated.

The system developed by SportFocus also offers team communication, such as training times, team selection, direction to the ground etc. If you would like further information on this revolutionary new administration system contact us by email.
