Windsor U13s travelled to Reigate for a match against Old Reigations on Sunday.
Straight from the kick off Windsor applied pressure forcing Reigations to touch down over their line. The resulting scrum saw the ball flow sweetly to the winger Aaron Joselyn, who, showing no sign of his recent injury, scored in the corner.
Reigations were stung into action and there followed a period of end to end rugby. Windsor broke the deadlock when full back Jack Johnson collected a kick through, stepped back inside to create space, was tackled and skilfully passed off the floor to James Enright to run into the corner.
The tempo of the game increased with both sets of forward putting in crunching tackles as Old Reigations fought to get back into the game but Windsor’s defence resisted all attacks.
From a penalty on OR’s 25 Bradley Mills popped the ball to James Enright on the crash ball and his speed and strength broke the line to score.
Windsor wrapped up the first half when James Enright picked up a ball close to his line avoided the advancing OR’s backs and released Aaron Joselyn to run 75m to score under the post. Newcomer Jack Ingram converted for a 22:0 lead at half time.
Windsor started the second half as they did the first by pining OR’s back in their half. From a scrum 5 Jack Tompkins picked up and drove for the line but was held up by some strong defence. The quickly recycled ball gave space for James Gillies to crash through to score.
Straight from the restart Windsor attacked again with the ball being quickly spun to new boy Jack Ingram who, with strength and determination, broke through 3 tackles and scored in the corner.
Windsor still attacked and a charged down clearance kick was taken on by Jack Tompkins to close to OR’s line. The ball was spun out to Jack Pattinson who cut back inside and scored. Jack Ingram got his second conversion with Windsor running out 39:0 winners.
Man of the match goes to Aaron Joselyn for his all round performance.
