Woodford United Football Club are celebrating the great news that funding totalling £369,675 has been awarded by the Football Foundation and the
Football Stadia Improvement Fund towards the development of facilities at their Byfield road ground
The Football Foundation has approved a grant offer of £269,675, this award has been drawn from funding made available to the Football Foundation from the
Community Club Development Programme to enhance the sustainability of Community Clubs and create more opportunities to participate in sport in a
high quality environment. The programme is an innovative collaboration between Government - the department of Culture, Media and Sport, Sport
England and 16 National Governing Bodies.
The Football Stadia Improvement Fund has also approved a grant offer of £100,000
The funding will play a major part in the clubs development, bring the facilities in line with the clubs stature as Football Association Community Club.
The project will include the following,
- 4 New changing rooms,
- New officials changing
- New physio / first aid facilities
- New-seated spectator facilities
- Relaxation and lecture facilities
The new facilities will allow us to continue to develop as the areas major club, enhancing the development in areas such as: Disability and Social inclusion,
Women’s and Girls development along with the continuation of its development of boys, youth and senior football.
The Foundation is dedicated to revitalising the grass roots of the game, constructing modern football facilities, developing football as a force for social cohesion and as a vehicle for education in communities throughout the country. Funded by the Premier League, the Football Association and the Government, the Football Foundation is the nation's largest sports charity having already funded projects worth almost £200m.
