The English Indoor Bowling Association (EIBA) is the National Governing Body for Males participating in the game of Flat Green Indoor Bowls in England.
The Ladies game is administered by the English Women's Indoor Bowling Association (EWIBA). We have regular liaison meetings with both the EWIBA and the two outdoor Governing Bodies (EBA and EWBA)
The EIBA has existed since 1933 when we were formed as a section of the English Bowling Association (EBA). In 1971 we became an autonomous body operated by an Executive Committee, which is elected by Club Delegates at the Annual General Meeting.
We have a close working relationship with Sport England who encourage our aim to increase participation by people of all age groups as a means of light exercise.
We are primarily funded by our Members, in the form of an Annual Membership Levy and Affiliation Fee for each Club, together with fees from 33 County Association Members.
National Competitions
We operate 18 National Competitions each year from Singles events through to Team Events. The Finals are either played at our major Finals Event in April at Melton Mowbray, or at other locations around the Country, usually over a weekend period.
International/Worldwide Representation
Players can be selected to play for the Junior and Senior International Teams, taking part in championship events organised by the World Indoor Bowls Council (WIBC) and the British Isles Indoor Bowls Council (BIIBC). The EIBA is affiliated to both organisations.
The EIBA National Singles Champion gains automatic entry into the W.I.B.C. Championships and the B.I.I.B.C. Championships.
EIBA National Ranking List
The Association launched a National Ranking List on 29th September 2000, which will be updated annually at the end of the Indoor Season (May) and published at the start of the next Season (i.e. October).
