Set out in 150 acres of splendid wooded parkland previously owned by Lord Desborough, less than half a mile from the town centre, Maidenhead Golf Club first opened for play on 12th December 1896. The course architect was Alex Simpson, a Scot from Forfar, whose design was enhanced in 1908 when the legendary J.H.Taylor, five times winner of The Open Championship, was commissioned to introduce improvements. These included constructing 17 new bunkers and lengthening the course by 700 yards.

Looking out from the new Clubhouse constructed in 1995, which, in addition to first-class changing rooms provides excellent bar, restaurant and conference facilities, visitors have a superb view of the 18th hole, which is a truly challenging finish.

Maidenhead Golf Club is a Private Members Club established in 1896 and management prides itself on the welcome that members and guests receive at the Club. If you would like to apply for membership then please contact the Club. We should point out that membership is not automatic and all applicants have to go through an interview and playing in process.
