Mount Pleasant Golf Club is situated at Mount Pleasant Farm in the centre of the village of Lower Stondon, less than one mile west of the Stondon/Henlow Camp roundabout, off the A600 Shefford to Hitchin road.
Mount Pleasant is a most attractive Nine-Hole Golf Course with 18 different tees, set in 65 acres of farm land, incorporating 3 meadows, with existing trees, hedges, ponds and ditches, playing over 6000 yards with a par of 70. Some 10,000 extra trees were planted and all these plantations will gradually come into play over the next few years.
The course was designed by architect Derek Young to complement the environment and natural contours of the land. It opened for play in July 1992 and quickly established a reputation for its excellent condition and presentation. By using the well-proven construction principals recommended by the English Golf Union and incorporating a good drainage and irrigation system, the course is playable most days of the year.
The course was designed to provide interesting and varied levels of challenge to give a fair game of golf to established players but not to be intimidating to enthusiastic beginners.
