The Bayeux Bowmen Junior Archery Club is a thriving section of The Bayeux Bowmen with several of the Juniors shooting in the Sussex Junior Archery Team. The ages range from ten 10-16 years old, and shoot all ranges of bows, from the English Longbow through to Recurve (or Olympic Bow) through to the advanced Compound Bow. Open shoots are held at various locations in Kent, Sussex, and further afield. As we are approaching the Winter/Indoor season, outdoor shoots are normally restricted to the Frostbite League Matches or when the weather allows outdoor shooting, normally on a Sunday. At present our landowner is hosting Rough Pheasant Shoots on Saturdays, so we cannot use our ground at the same time as the Rough Shoots, but apart from that we have the sole use of the shooting ground. Our Junior Members often win Medals at "Open" shoots hosted by other Archery Clubs. All Juniors must be accompanied at all times by a Parent or Guardian, and must not be left with other Club Members. This is for the protection of the Juniors as well as protecting our Adult Members. We have attatched to the Club, Senior Coaches and County Coaches, One qualified Leader and Senior Members with a wealth of experience. One Senior Lady Archer has represented England in the World Championships, and has herself a vast knowledge of Archery. We have other Ex County Champions in the Senior Section who are always willing to pass on their knowledge if you need help. Just dont be afraid to ask, (they had to learn as well as you).
